Where are you located?
I currently tattoo out of Old Sarum Tattoo in Salisbury, and The Unseen Tattoo Club, Portsmouth, both in the UK. I occasionally do guest spots in other studios (Please see the 'About' page for future guest spots/conventions).
Do you require a deposit for bookings?
I require a deposit for all bookings. These are non-refundable, will come off the total cost of your tattoo, and will secure your appointment slot. If you haven't paid a deposit, please do not assume you have been booked.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or move your appointment I require at least 72 hours' notice. If you cancel within the 72-hour period, your deposit will be forfeited and you will be required to pay a new one if you wish to rebook. If you need to reschedule I allow one change of date. If you need to reschedule again, I will require a new deposit should you wish to rebook.
Can I bring a friend or family member with me to my appointment?
You may bring a friend or family member with you, but they will not be allowed into the tattooing area due to health and safety. We do have limited space in the waiting area, and we do tend to fill up quite quickly on busy days. We ask for you to come alone where possible. Please note we do not allow small children in the studio.
When will I see my design?
All tattoo designs are shown on the day. There is plenty of time for us to go through the design and make any last-minute adjustments together.
I've already booked in but I've changed my mind about what I want to get done, can I change the design?
Depending on how big the changes are I may have to reschedule your appointment, as I tend to have more than one person booked per day. If you completely change your design idea 72 hours before your appointment I will require a new deposit as it is very likely I have already drawn your design up. If you aren't 100% certain about what you want to get tattooed I would recommend not booking until you have made up your mind. If you do want to change your idea please get in touch with me before your appointment. If you wait until the day of I may not have space to complete your tattoo.
Are there any tattoo designs you won't do?
I will not tattoo any hate speech, anti-LGBTQ, or racist designs.
I also don't do:
Maori/Polynesian
Photorealism portraits
I will do animal portraits if given some leeway in the design.
If your design idea is something I don't feel comfortable doing, or I think someone else will be able to execute it better, then I will tell you and recommend another artist!
How can I prepare for my appointment?
Try to get a good night's rest beforehand
Have a shower and eat a good meal before your appointment
Make sure you drink plenty of water
Please don't drink alcohol or do drugs before your appointment (you will be turned away)
If you drink alcohol the night before your appointment you may find that you bleed more, and you may find the tattoo more painful
Wear comfy clothes that give access to the area being tattooed (if you are unsure, just pop me a message and I can give you a list of suggestions!)
Please wear clothes you aren't precious about! I try to be careful about getting ink on clothes but it does happen.
You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks with you to keep your sugar levels up, but please avoid any milk-based beverages.
Will you tattoo someone under the age of 18, with parental consent?
In the UK it is illegal to tattoo someone under the age of 18, so no. I ask for a valid photo ID to go with the consent forms. These include citizenship cards, provisional and full driving licenses, and passports. Please note I can't accept a picture of your ID, so make sure you bring your ID with you. Failure to bring your ID will result in losing your deposit.
Do you offer touch-ups?
I offer one free touch-up on tattoos I've done within 6 months of the tattoo being completed.
Any additional touch-ups will be charged for.
Do you do cover-ups/reworks/finish another artist's work/tattoo over scars?
This completely depends on what you want covered/reworked/finished. If you are able to pop into the studio for a face-to-face consultation this would be the easiest way for me to determine whether I would be able to do the work for you!
I am more than happy to do scar cover-ups. I will need to see them before I tattoo them to determine whether they are healed enough to be tattooed over. We can do this via a face-to-face consultation in the studio, or by you sending a well-lit picture of the area.
How do you accept payment?
I accept cash, Paypal, bank transfer or card.
